Airport

Amery Municipal Airport, located at the south end of the city, features a number of amenities to make a visit by air a pleasant experience. The newly paved 75 by 4,000 foot north/south runway can accommodate a variety of aircraft , including small jets. The large ramp provides plenty of tie-down space. There are GPS-RNAV approaches available for inclement weather, as well as pilot controlled lighting that can be activated by 3 clicks on the Unicom frequency (122.8). PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) lights help guide pilots down the glideslope.
Both 100LL and JetA with Prist aviation fuels are available 24/7 from our automated credit card self serve system. MasterCard, Visa, Discover and multi-serve cards are accepted. The pilot lounge, which is always open 24/7, features a restroom, vending machine, aviation weather computer and comfortable furniture. There is also a nice, full-size courtesy car, available to pilots on a first come basis. It can be used to visit our restaurants, resorts and retail establishments or to call on friends and family.

Expansion Project

The airport has had three major projects over the past several years. An airport expansion project in 2008 added 8 additional hangar lots for those who want to store their aircraft on the field. Another project involved repaving the taxiways and ramp and replacing the taxiway lights with new LED technology. In 2015, the third major project involved repaving and repainting the runway, Installing the new PAPI lighting system and replacing all the runway lights with state-of-the art LED lighting.

Great Place to Visit

Amery is a great place to visit and the airport is a great way to arrive. If you are coming for the day or a short visit, you are welcome to use the courtesy car provided by the city of Amery. Golf, fishing and other activities are available nearby. Each summer in early June the Amery Pilots Association, with help from the local Boy Scouts, puts on a pancake breakfast for the community and for visiting pilots who fly in for the event. It is a great chance to see a variety of interesting airplanes up close and a great event for kids.
