Expansion Project
The airport has had three major projects within the past few years. An airport expansion project in 2008 added 8 additional hangar lots for those who want to store their aircraft on the field. Another project involved repaving the taxiways and ramp and rreplacing the taxiway lights with new LED technology. In 2015, the third major project involved repaving and repainting the runway, Installing the new PAPI lighting system and replacing all the runway lights with state-of-the art LED lighting.
Great Place to Visit
Amery is a great place to
visit and the airport is a great way to arrive. If you are coming for the day
or a short visit, you are welcome to use the courtesy car provided by the city
of Amery. Camping is allowed on the airport and golf, fishing and other activities
are available nearby. Each summer in early June the Amery Pilots Association,
with help from the local Boy Scouts, puts on a pancake breakfast for the
community and for visiting pilots who fly in for the event. It is a great
chance to see a variety of interesting airplanes up close and a great event for
kids.
