"Stay Safe" Activities in Amery, Wisconsin
There are many ways you CAN enjoy Amery, Wisconsin while following the safe-distancing guidelines.
GET OUT & RIDE
Stower Seven Lakes - Built on a former railroad corridor, this 14-mile, non-motorized, trail begins in Amery at Harriman Avenue, travels through the communities of Deronda, Wanderoos and Nye, ending about one mile from Dresser at 90th Avenue. The trail passes through maple and oak forests, wetlands, prairies and farmlands and past many picturesque lakes. The trail crosses between the North Twin and South Twin lakes in Amery, skirts the south end of Bear Trap Lake, the north end of Kinney lake and runs along Dwight, Horse and Lotus lakes near the western end.
A trail pass is required for bicyclists aged 16 and older. Walking and jogging is FREE.
Cattail State Trail - The Cattail State Trail travels for 18 miles on the same former rail corridor between the communities of Amery and Almena in northwestern Wisconsin. Forests, farmlands, prairies, hills and various wildlife habitats surround the trail, which also passes through the Village of Turtle Lake. No matter your interest, ATV, off-road motorcycling, snowmobiling, walking, bicycling, horseback riding, this trail has you covered!
INDULGE IN ICE CREAM GALORE – Beat the heat by stopping in at Ellie’s Ice Cream and Coffee or the first Dairy Queen in the State of Wisconsin for some delicious ice cream and treats!
IT’S THE THRILL OF THE HUNT - We have plenty of shops filled with rusty, chippy, vintage goodness with the coolest antique finds & repurposed pieces! Furniture, home decor, jewelry... and incredible JUNK that will give you all the heart-eyes!

GET BACK TO NATURE IN NEARBY PARKS AND WATERS - Enjoying outdoor trails is a FREE activity that can be practiced with social distancing. Mother nature is here to heal and the beauty of Amery welcomes you.
Visit all of the beautiful parks that the Amery area has to offer! There are numerous city parks for playing, hiking, bird-watching, picnicing and just plain relaxing. The beauty of the Amery Area extends beyond Amery, drive to a nearby park for a day of outdoor enjoyment. Many county parks are just a skip away…Polk County Park, Garfield Park, DD Kennedy Environmental Park, and Blackbrook Dam. Let’s not forget Interstate Park near St. Croix Falls. Look for herons, deer, eagles, and turtles…
RUN FREE AND PLAY SAFE - The Amery Dog Park awaits. Your pet will love to play off-leash at this fenced-in dog park which includes two separate areas. Off-leash play benefits all members of the community. Dogs that have regular exercise are better neighbors. They are quieter, better behaved and friendlier to other people and dogs.
